ROCO Announces Its
The River Oaks Chamber Orchestra’s 2010-2011 season will be “the most fun you can have with serious music”. The season features a subscription series of three concerts at St. John the Divine, Sunday performances in exciting venues, “music tastings,” a solo concert series that features individual ROCO musicians, in addition to several special events.

Our fifth season is a treasure trove of classical gems, distinguished guest conductors, world-famous composers, and our 40 all-star musicians, all coming together to present classical favorites, original compositions, and delightful performances that dissolve the barrier between audience and orchestra. We invite you to get to know some of the most talented musicians in the world, and to share in the “musical joie de vivre” that flows between musicians and audience at our concerts.

ROCO
Bring your whole family to our concert and let the kids explore the world of music. Our popular music education/childcare program for kids between 2 months and 10 years runs during and after concerts at St. John the Divine. Kids enjoy fun music and art instruction, a trip into the concert hall (for ages 5-10), and an option to stay for pizza and movies after the concert, allowing parents (or grandparents!) to go out for a post-concert dinner.

Fine food and drink, delicious music, and good company – that’s ROCO Music Tastings. These events, held in wine cellars or tasting rooms, feature individual ROCO musicians in an intimate, interactive setting, where we pair music with wine or beer, and have a great time.

Chamber
Because of its intimate nature, chamber music has been described as “music of friends.” ROCO continues the tradition of small ensembles performing in intimate environments, allowing listeners to enjoy the subtleties of the musical conversation among the musicians and between musicians and audience.

Bring the concert experience into your own home by hosting
a private Salon Concert. A large space is not required.
Host a memorable affair for you and your guests and bring
chamber music into the intimate environment for which it
was written.
Upstairs with
A special series of complimentary, intimate concerts for
Enthusiast level donors and above. Featuring one or two
musicians, fine wine, and hors d’oeuvres, concerts take
place upstairs at ROCO’s West Gray office on select Tuesdays
throughout the concert season.

ROCO
ROCOsolo features ROCO musicians in solo concerts. Each is performed in the 100-seat Recital Room at Dowling Music, 2615 Southwest Freeway #220. Admission is free, and families are welcome.
