Eduardo Tercero

tercero100x125

Tenor Eduardo Tercero has enjoyed considerable success on the operatic stage and in the oratorio repertoire. His solo work in Handel’s Messiah has been enjoyed by audiences of the Des Moines Symphony, the La Cross Symphony, the Houston Chamber Choir and Bethany (KS) and Augustana (IL) Colleges. He is also at home with Bach’s Magnificat, Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine and other major works of the period. Additional concert credits include the world première of Nicholas of Myra by Robert Nelson in the role of Marcus and the role of Piacere in the US premiere of Handel’s Il Trionfo del Tempo e della Verita. With Ars Lyrica he has sung the roles of Adamo in Il Primo Omicidio and Holofernes in La Giuditta, both by Alessandro Scarlatti; he has also sung the role of Obidah in Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Praised by conductors for his “wealth of technical skill and passion,” he was described recently by the Houston Chronicle as a “dashing performer” and was listed in Symphony Magazine’s 2008 Guide to Emerging Artists.

Eduardo Tercero will perform as one of the magi, in Amahl and the Night Visitors, a ROCO production in collaboration with St. John the Divine, on the Epiphany, January 6, 2012.
