October 16 & 17, 2010

Season Opener featuring Guest Conductor, JoAnn Falletta, conducting Mendelssohn’s Symphony #3, Ligeti’s Concerto Romanesc, and the world premiere of Scott McAllister’s Rhapsodie for String Bass and Chamber Orchestra performed by ROCO soloist, Sandor Ostlund, at The Church of St. John the Divine, with ROCO Rooters music education/childcare program (Oct 16), and First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood (Oct 17).

Conductorless Valentine’s Concert
February 12 & 13, 2011

Our Conductorless Valentine’s Concert was full of surprises, with Haydn Surprise Symphony #94, Dvorak Serenade for Winds, Janacek Idyll for Strings, and some surprise pieces, 5:00 pm at The Church of St. John the Divine (Feb 12), and with dinner at The Houstonian Hotel (Feb 12).

Season Finale
April 9 & 10, 2011

Our Season Finale featured guest conductor, Robert Moody, and soloist, Nathan Williams, playing the Copland Clarinet Concerto.  Also on the program:  Symphony #1 by Dean Jose Antonio Bowen from SMU Meadows School of the Arts (nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in Music in 1985), Mvt 3 and 4 reorchestrated for Chamber Orchestra, Beethoven #7, and a surprise piece, 5:00 pm at The Church of St. John the Divine (Apr 9), and at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens (Apr 10).
