Please join us for our 2011-2012 Season: a “fusion of cultures and generations.”

The centerpiece of our Seventh Season is our 5pm Saturday Concert Series at St. John the Divine and our annual holiday performance of Amahl and the Night Visitors for the 2011-2012 season.

 

  • Our October 22, 2011 Season Opener will feature guest conductor, Mei-Ann Chen, Conductor of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Chicago Sinfonietta, and Timothy Jones, baritone, who will perform Gerald Finzi’s songs.  Also on the program:  Martinu Toccata and Mozart Symphony #40.
  • On the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2012, ROCO will present its 2nd annual professional staging of Amahl and the Night Visitors in partnership with The Church of St. John the Divine. Two performances (6pm and 8pm) will feature boy soprano, Sean Holshouser, alongside dynamic singers including soprano, Sonja Bruzauskas and baritone, Timothy Jones.
  • In our February 18, 2012 concert we welcome guest conductor, Kazem Abdullah, our will feature principal cellist, Richard Belcher (of the Grammy-nominated Enso Quartet), as soloist performing the Haydn Concerto, plus a world premiere by composer and pianist, Paul English.
  • The April 21, 2012 Season Finale will feature Grammy-nominated guest conductor, Alastair Willis, and the world premiere of a new piece by Anthony Brandt called “Maternity – Women’s Voices Through the Ages,” with Libretto by David Eagleman, and sung by Karol Bennett. Also on the program: pieces by Wagner, Rossini, and Kodaly.
