River Oaks Chamber Orchestra and Houston Chamber Choir teamed up with composer Karim Al-Zand to create and present the world premiere of a new version of Handel’s beloved classic, The Messiah. G. F. Handel’s Messiah: The Pre-Game Show was created especially for young audiences, and brings a fresh perspective to this holiday favorite.
In this show, you’ll get a behind the scenes look at this unique match-up of choir and orchestra. In a pre-game press conference, George Frideric Handel himself will introduce the team, make the big calls, and provide a play-by-play analysis of his Messiah. Through musical demonstrations, audience participation, and lively interaction, this version of the Messiah brings Handel’s music to life in a way that is both accessible and entertaining for young audiences.
